This beautiful red poppy fabric is a symbol of remembrance for those who served and died in wars, particularly during World War I. The red poppy became a symbol after the famous World War I poem In Flanders Fields, written by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae. The poem describes how red poppies grew over the graves of soldiers in the fields of Flanders, where many battles took place.
The Royal Australian Legion distribute poppies in the lead-up to Remembrance Day (November 11th) and Anzac Day (April 25th).
Sold in 1m increments: Quantity 1=1m, 2=2m, 3=3m, 20=20m etc... We cut a continuous length.
