The "Golden Lily" design is celebrated for its intricate details and timeless beauty, reflecting the ethos of the Arts and Crafts Movement. John Henry Dearle was a British textile and stained glass designer, famously associated with the Arts and Crafts Movement. He worked closely with William Morris, a leading figure in the movement, and eventually became the chief designer for Morris & Co. after Morris's death.
One of Dearle's notable contributions was his work on the "Golden Lily" pattern, which he created around 1899. This intricate and elegant design featured stylised lilies with golden hues and was used in various textiles, wallpapers, and decorative arts produced by Morris & Co.
